Students who have not obtained the required minimum of 60% for the relevant modules on level three or who have obtained the first B qualification at another institution, can apply to the Subject Leader of the Department of Language Technology and the Director of the School of Languages of the NWU (Potchefstroom Campus) for possible acceptance to this honours programme. Exceptions will be considered on merit and may include an admission test and/or taking the required modules additionally.

Candidates who wish to choose MUSH677 (Practical Music Studies) as an elective module must audition in the instrument of their choice. A well-balanced programme of approximately 20–25 minutes, consisting of works that are representative of various styles, genres and languages (if applicable), must be presented to the panel.
