Hello and welcome, Khayelitsha residence!

You leave home to seek your fortune and, when you get it, you go home and share it with your family and in the life that lies ahead of you, it is important to be associated with people that share your optimism to succeed!

Khayelitsha, or ‘new home’ in isiXhosa, is a powerful and graceful invitation that we extend to you to become part of our 220-man community, where you will be steeped in the diverse NWU culture and tradition. We at Khayelitsha value our greatest commodity, which is our 220 members. Standing firm on our guiding pillars – Accountability, Discipline, Transparency, Academic excellence, Competency, Student vibrancy and Teamwork – we seek to instil a true sense of belonging within the brotherhood.

As one of the most reputable male city residences on the Mahikeng Campus of the NWU, Khayelitsha provides a platform for each young man to develop their own unique approach to tertiary life, while ensuring that the necessary support and guidance is provided, resulting in a well-rounded graduate. While we aim to excel in all things on campus – sports, academics, and culture – we also understand the importance of enjoying student life. Through our strong academic ethos and community outreach programmes, these are just a few of the ways we immerse ourselves in campus life. By encouraging participation, we know our students will forge lasting friendships and memories for a lifetime. You were born to stand out. Make the right choice. Khayelitsha welcomes you.
