Dear Bellatrix Ladies

It is truly an honor for me to be the House Parent of Bellatrix Ladies’ Day House. The valleys you have walked and the infamous Weet and Sweet is very much known to me. It was an absolute honor to be able to complete my studies at the NWU Potchefstroom campus and it is also a privilege for me to call NWU my home for my formal career at Student Counselling and Development. My journey as a student at the NWU was the best time of my life. As I reflect, I remember how scared I was for the unknown and the great mountains that stood before me. HOWEVER, my beloved parents encouraged me to grab every opportunity, to put myself outside of my comfort zone, and to make the best of every situation. I did, and I cherish all the memories of my student journey.

As a house parent, I want to encourage you to partake in all the opportunities that Bellatrix and the NWU provides to you. It takes a mere 30 seconds to challenge your fears and to go for the things you hope to achieve. You will see the many benefits of choosing this path. I am here with you when we celebrate your many successes, and I am also for you when the tears flow from disappointment. I am only a call or an office space away. My door and heart are open to you. Involve yourself completely in all Bellatrix has to give.
