Student's Representative Council

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) represents the interests of the students of the North-West University. The SRC is comprised of fifteen members designated from the Students’ Campus Councils and an elected member representing students enrolled in the open distance learning environment. As a statutory body, the SRC is the highest ranking student leadership structure of the NWU.

Student Campus Councils

The Students’ Campus Councils (SCCs) are annually elected, with an SCC being elected for each of the three campuses of the NWU. The Mahikeng, Potchefstroom and Vanderbijlpark SCCs are accountable to the SRC and the student body of the campus to which it is elected.

Subordinate Student Leadership Structures

Subordinate student leadership structures are affiliated to each SCC and annually elected. These leadership structures represent the interest of students at the three campuses, in various domains of the co-curricular environment which includes the Residence Life, arts and culture, sport, religious, social and political environment.
