Important announcement : Updates with respect to the 2023 Registration and Orientation Programme

Dear Prospective Student
The North-West University (NWU) has decided to amend the 2023 Registration and Orientation (R&O) programme due to the indication received from the National Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) that the final funding status of prospective first-year students will only be received from 6 February 2023 onwards. The registration status of students can only be made final once their funding status has been confirmed. Regrettably, students who are conditionally registered will not be allowed to make use of university facilities or occupy a university residence.
The university recognises that the late release of the NSFAS funding results will have an impact on the ability of a large number of students to timeously complete their registration, arrive on campus, and partake in the R&O programme. Therefore, as part of our commitment to ensuring student success by successfully onboarding all our students to the NWU, the following changes have been made to the R&O programme:

Students residing in university residences who arrive prior to 9 February 2023, will still receive limited orientation related to the immediate services and programmes available in the residences. The updated R&O programme remains largely similar and will still provide exposure to the faculties and support services, while allowing for co-curricular and residence programmes, thus introducing students to our vibrant student life.
The R&O programme will conclude on 18 February 2023, with classes commencing on 20 February 2023 as planned.

The North-West University (NWU) will not allow persons who did not qualify for admission, did not receive an offer to study at the NWU or who applied late to enter its campuses to enrol as so-called walk-ins during the registration period for first-year students in 2023. Read more
