As communicated to the student community on 22 August 2023, the commencement of the voting period of the 2023/24 SCC and SRC: DSO elections was delayed due to a systems challenge that resulted in all student voters being unable to access the voting site, with an “Access denied” notice displayed. University stakeholders worked diligently since Monday, 21 August 2023 in collaboration with the external partner, Question Pro, to resolve the systems challenge.

The University is currently investigating possible solutions to ensure the commencement of the voting process for the SCC and SRC: DSO elections as soon as possible.
We are aware of the frustrations currently experienced by students and wish to assure students that the University remains committed to the successful completion of the voting process, in line with the Institutional Rules on Student Governance (2023). Students can further be assured that they will be provided with sufficient notice and time to participate in the voting process once the process has commenced.
We will continue to update the student community on progress made.
