Harmony Gold Bursary Programme
Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited is looking to award bursaries to top-performing students in their 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of studies. Interested students in core mining disciplines, such as Mining Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, Geology, Survey, Rock Engineering, Electrical Engineering - Heavy current ONLY, Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply. Non-core mining related fields of studies includes; Finance, Accounting, Human Resources and Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Information Technology.

Important: Harmony will only consider students having an acceptance letter from the public tertiary institution that they can enroll for their 1st year of studies and who can verify that they are in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of studies. We do not provide bursaries for studies at TVET colleges and private colleges.
Requirements
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- A valid South African identity document (SA Citizen).
- A National Senior Certificate, having passed all subjects with 60% and above.
- Students planning to study in the Engineering field, must have a minimum of 70% for Mathematics & Physical Science.
- Students already at public tertiary institutions must have obtained an average of 60%and above in all major subjects. Current year results, must be attached
- Must be studying or plan to study on a full-time basis.

2026 MAD Leadership Foundation Scholarship Opportunities
MAD Scholarship: STEM/Commerce/Construction/ Wood Science
This scholarship is designed for future leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Commerce, Construction professions and construction trades
Eligibility:
- South African citizen
- Currently in Grade 12, 1st or 2nd year of study
- Applying to, accepted into, or currently studying a STEM, Commerce, or construction-related field
- 1st/2nd year - Studying towards a STEM or Commerce-related field
- Minimum 65% academic average
- Gross household income below R25,000/month
- Able to speak and understand basic English
Mike Isley Memorial (MIM) Scholarship
This scholarship supports undergraduate students with a passion for accounting on their journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant (SA)
Eligibility:
- South African citizen
- Currently in 1st or 2nd year at a South African university
- Enrolled in a SAICA-accredited CA(SA) undergraduate programme
- Academic average of 70% in 2024, with at least 70% in Financial Accounting
- Gross household income below R25,000/month
- Able to speak and understand basic English

Amazon Recruitment Bursary
- Field of Study: Pursuing undergraduate degrees in fields related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Software Engineering.Specializations in Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence are also eligible.
- Academic Achievement: Current students who are consistently obtaining an average of 65% and above.Education Completion: Students should plan to complete tertiary education up to Honours level or NQF level 8 by the end of 2027.
- Career Plans & Motivation: Applicants must display a keen interest in the field of software development engineering and Amazon. During the internship, they will be assessed for a full-time permanent role with Amazon to start upon completion of their studies.
- Availability: Applicants must be available to start full-time permanent employment with Amazon in January 2028, contingent upon receiving a job offer after the internship assessment.

The Department Of Agriculture Bursary Awards for 2026 (apply by 30 September 2025)

The Department of Agriculture (DoA) intends to award comprehensive bursaries to qualifying applicants pursuing and/or intending to further their studies in identified careers in the agriculture sector for the 2026 academic year. The bursary will cover tuition, accommodation, books, meals and a monthly allowance. The bursary awards target the previously disadvantaged and impoverished persons from poverty-stricken and rural communities.
Criteria:
- Applicants must be South African citizens.
- Applicants must complete the relevant bursary application forms available from the website address: www.nda.gov.za (Click on vacancies).
- Applicants who apply for fields of study that are not listed above will not be considered.
- Please note that communication will be limited to successful applicants only. If you have not received any communication from the department within 14 days after the release of Grade 12 results, and after the National Bursary Committee has finalised the selection process, consider your application unsuccessful.
- Applicants who are not in possession of their university acceptance letter or results can submit their application while waiting for the said documents. However, these documents must be submitted within three (3) days after the release of Grade 12 results in January 2026.
- No late application forms will be considered.
- The Department of Agriculture (DoA) reserves the right to determine the total number of bursary allocations for the academic year based on the total budget available.

Standard Bank is offering students an opportunity to get a Student Loan Without Surety – meaning you do not require a guardian or parent to be able to take up this loan. We understand that it may be stressful looking for funding, and that is why you need a bank that backs you.
Minimum Criteria
- You must be a South African citizen.
- Your Gross Household Income must be less than R600 000 per annum.
- 3rd Year students and upwards within Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematic, Commerce, Health Sciences and 5th Year students in Medicine.
- Open to existing Standard Bank Transactional Account holders. You may apply for one using our digital and other banking channels if you don’t have one
- Study at one of our participating universities
How does it work?
- The loan maximum is R120 000 per annum, which can be used to cover tuition, accommodation, books and study equipment.
- There is no expectation of repayment on the loan while you are studying. However, you will be expected to start repaying the loan six months after completing your studies or as soon as you secure employment. Of course, it will be to your advantage to reduce your balance by making some payments while studying.
- Monthly interest and service fees will be charged from the loan’s inception and will be added to the outstanding balance.
- This loan can cover your existing university student debt up to R80 000 for each previous year that may be preventing you from completing your studies
- Competitive interest rates apply.
