2. What is university exemption?
University exemption refers to the minimum admission requirements that you have to meet to qualify for degree studies. The requirements for a National Senior Certificate are at least 50% in any four NSC 20-credit subjects.

4. Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy. Which one should I choose?
Let’s be honest — the choice between Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is not as easy as one, two, three. Not everyone has the same abilities with Maths.
Mathematics is a compulsory subject for some fields of study; if you did not take Mathematics, you cannot apply for these programmes.
There are many fields of study available to learners who take Mathematical Literacy.
Note where Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is required when doing research and/or consulting the faculty requirements on required subjects.
Mathematical Literacy focuses on “mathematics” in real/practical situations such as drawing up a budget, financial calculations, calculating areas, volumes, etc. Mathematics focuses on problem-solving and forming of ideas.
5. What can I study with Technical Mathematics and Technical Science?
You can study towards a degree in Technical Education and in certain humanities qualifications. Further information is available from the faculty.
6. Can I do IT with Mathematical Literacy?
No. The minimum requirement for IT is Mathematics on level 4.
